ENVIRONMENT / Clean St Martin: strong mobilization for the first operation of the year | FAXINFO

The first cleanup mission of the year organized by Clean St Martin early March brought together 43 volunteers on the beach at Grandes Cayes. One Participation significantly exceeded expectations of the new board, recently installed around President Jean-Christophe Pineau.

In just over an hour, the volunteers had collected more than 1,5 tonnes of wasteA significant result that illustrates both the effectiveness of collective mobilization and the still a significant amount of debris present on the coastlineSince Hurricane Irma, the Clean St. Martin association has continued its work to preserve natural spaces, particularly coastal areas. The organization now relies on a around fifty active members and on a broader network of supporters who can be mobilized as needed. The association warmly thanks all participants and invites those wishing to join future actions to write to contact@clean-st-martin.org in order to be added to the mailing list. The stated objective is to organize a cleaning operation approximately once a month, to continue to sustainably preserve the island’s landscapes. _Vx
