GREAT BAY--From the dance studios of St. Maarten to national television in the Netherlands, 23-year-old Faith Peterson is showing that island talent can shine on major stages abroad.

Born and raised on St. Maarten, Peterson began dancing at the age of four with Motiance Dance School and NIA. What started as a childhood passion has developed into a promising path in the performing arts, shaped by years of training, discipline and dedication.

Peterson is currently in her third year at the Lucia Marthas Institute for Performing Arts, where she studies Musical Theatre Dance. The academy is widely recognized as one of the leading performing arts institutions in the Netherlands, training performers for careers in musical theatre, television and live entertainment.

In recent months, Peterson has also been appearing on the popular Dutch television programStars on Stage, where audiences have been able to watch her perform as both a dancer and singer. Her weekly appearances have drawn attention from viewers in the Netherlands as well as supporters at home in St. Maarten.

Despite her growing success abroad, Peterson remains connected to her roots and proud of the island that helped shape her.

“I am proud to represent St. Maarten,” Peterson said. “I want the world to see that there is so much talent on our island, and that talent deserves to be seen on stages and screens around the world.”

Her journey serves as an inspiration to young people in St. Maarten who dream of pursuing careers in the arts. Through dedication, training and perseverance, Peterson has shown that talent nurtured on a small Caribbean island can compete and thrive internationally.

Looking ahead, Peterson hopes to build a career in Dutch musical theatre, combining her passion for singing, dancing and acting on professional stages throughout the Netherlands and beyond.

As she continues to grow as a performer, St. Maarten will be cheering her on every step of the way.
