Delphine, a speaker and midwife at the PMI (Maternal and Child Health Center)then led a dynamic information workshop, with a fun video and a Presentation on breast anatomy, risk factors, and warning signsThe participants learned how to perform theself-examinationA simple, painless, and free step to better understand your body and identify any abnormalities. “Every woman must create her own reference point, because each breast is unique" she explained, inviting people to practice this gesture every month, outside of menstrual periods.
The discussions also covered other screening methods, mammographyultrasound, MRI, and on the existing treatmentsAlthough diagnosis is possible in Saint-Martin, surgery is still performed in Guadeloupe or mainland France.
The event concluded with refreshments in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
