The workshop sessions intend to explore key issues including the use of AI in parliamentary work, responses to misinformation and digital threats, cybersecurity, and national readiness for the opportunities of digital transformation.

During the first day of sessions on Monday, June 22, participants shared updates on the adoption of AI within their respective parliaments, institutions, and governments. Attendees also received presentations from various stakeholders, including Evoluut.ai, a local Anguillian company that developed an AI-powered Hansard solution for the Anguilla House of Assembly.

The technology captures parliamentary debates and transforms them into official records within hours, demonstrating the practical application of AI in improving parliamentary processes.

The sessions of the first day also centered around AI Readiness in Society, as well as AI Across Sectors: Opportunities & Challenges, during which MP Irion presented on the deployment of AI in public services, responsible adoption of AI, the role of Parliaments in promoting citizen engagement, and the opportunities and challenges facing Small Island Developing States (SIDS) in the area of AI.
