MENTAL HEALTH: The National Cause extended into 2026 | FAXINFO

Mental health will remain a national priority in 2026. Following a working meeting bringing together the Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu, Minister of Health Stéphanie Rist and MP Michel BarnierThe Government has decided to prolong the Great National Cause launched in 2025 under the label “Let’s talk about mental health”.

Announced in the fall of 2024 and then deployed from January 2025, this initiative has marked a turning point in the way mental health is approached in Francewith a more accessible, direct, and uninhibited approach. Building on this momentum, 2026 should allow for consolidate the progress and to accelerate the ongoing transformation. This extension aims to strengthen interministerial coordinationto provide more support to local areas and to amplify concrete actions closer to citizens. Mental health must therefore become a lasting part of everyday life.whether it concerns school, work, sport, community life or public services.
The State therefore intends to firmly establish mental health as a given, rather than a peripheral issueIn our territory, the Living Museum supported by the association Art for Science (AFS) is at the forefront of this dynamic. Situated at Hope EstateIt places mental health at the heart of its work, using art as a tool for recovery. This innovative space offers a a free, inclusive and welcoming space where artistic creation fosters calm, self-confidence, and personal reconstruction. _Vx
