MUSIC: A piano journey along the ocean makes a stopover in Saint-Martin | FAXINFO

An unusual concert is being prepared on the Marigot waterfront. This Saturday, March 14th, and Sunday, March 15th, at 19 p.m., the public can attend two free performances of artistic project Pianocean, led by singer, pianist and sailor Marieke Huysmans-Bertou.

For more than ten years, the artist has been sailing the seas aboard the schooner Lady Flow, with a piano installed on the deck. Its concept: making stopovers in different ports around the world to offer intimate concerts directly from his boatcreating an original encounter between music, sea and maritime landscapes.
For one weekend, this musical adventure will stop in Saint-Martin. The public is invited to to settle on the seafront quay, near the Marigot maritime stationto listen to a piano-vocal concert given from the deck of the schooner. In this setting overlooking the bay, the musician will offer a repertoire inspired by her maritime voyages, blending Irish songs, Portuguese fados and folk influences.
This stopover is part of a Caribbean tour The tour, which began in February, has already taken the artist to Guadeloupe and Antigua, before a stop in Saint Barthélemy at the beginning of the month. After the two scheduled shows in Marigot, Pianocean will continue its journey to Sint Maarten, where the tour will conclude on March 21.
These concerts, organised with the support of the Port of Saint-Martin and the Collectivity, also aim to liven up the Marigot seafront by offering the public cultural initiatives related to the maritime world.
Both performances are open to all and free of charge.A rare opportunity to experience a concert on the water, carried by the notes of a traveling piano. _Vx
