On the first day of racing, Sheppard completed two races, finishing 34th and 48th, placing him 161st overall after the opening day. Competing in such a large international fleet is very different from sailing at home, but Sheppard handled the challenge well and gained valuable experience on the water.

The St. Maarten delegation thanked all sponsors and supporters who helped make the trip possible, including Nomad Marine Solutions, Island Water World, FKG Marine, Dock Maarten Marina, SailThePhoenix, Budget Marine, Sint Maarten Yacht Club Bar & Restaurant, ProServ Marine, Drywall Systems and T-Shirtmax SXM.

Supporters extended best wishes to Nathan as he continues competing in Morocco, encouraging him to stay focused, trust his training and proudly represent St. Maarten on the world stage.
