They are designed exclusively for St. Martin, inspired by the vibrant culture, iconic landmarks and unique spirit of the island.
This unique design celebrates local pride through iconic imagery, bold Caribbean colors, and a decidedly modern creative approach.
Born in Curaçao and loved throughout the Caribbean, Amstel Bright is known for its crisp, easy-drinking taste. Today, the brand goes further by offering packaging that captures the spirit of St. Martin, seamlessly integrating the island’s culture and iconic landmarks into the world of beer.
Zoila Sanchez Contreras, Brand Marketing Executive at Heineken, shares her enthusiasm:
“We are proud to present this new design, which reflects the Caribbean soul and heritage of Amstel Bright, while paying homage to the unique identity of St. Martin.”
The six-pack stands were designed by illustrator Pip van Gelder, who wanted to shake up the traditional codes of beer advertising, while respecting the authenticity and cultural identity of the island.
“I chose to depict a woman holding a beer because advertisements often feature men. I wanted to challenge that stereotype,” explains van Gelder. “She’s wearing a headband, a symbol of cultural heritage and pride.”
The illustration depicts a woman on Maho Beach, welcoming the iconic airplane that makes this site one of St. Martin’s most famous locations. To reinforce the local connection, the artist also incorporated strong island elements: the magnificent flamboyant flower, from the national tree, provides color and symbolism, while the brown pelican, the national bird, appears on the carrier part of the packaging.
Dressed in Amstel Bright’s iconic colours – aqua blue and bright yellow – this new design captures the very essence of the Caribbean, while remaining resolutely true to the Bright identity.
The new Amstel Bright six-pack holders are now available in supermarkets and mini-markets in St. Martin.
