Last Friday, the president of the Collectivity of Saint-Martin, Louis Mussington, presented his New Year’s wishes on the Marigot seafront. A ceremony focused on transformation efforts of the territory, begun by the COM in 2025, which must continue for their last full calendar year of mandate.
In 2025, these are more than thirty construction sites or construction projects which were launched by the community, such as the complete restructuring of the slaughterhouse, the rehabilitation of the Concordia territorial media library or the €4,5 million allocated for the renovation of the road network. But at the beginning of this fourth year of his term, the president of the Collectivity admits, transforming Saint-Martin turned out to be “a demanding, even complex exercise” and he hopes to “do even better in terms of transformation” for the coming year.
He does, however, point out the massive investments made by the community in education, one of the priorities of his term, with the construction projects of colleges 600 of Quartier d’Orléans and 900 de la Savane, whose delivery is “scheduled for 2026”, he also mentions the opening of a branch of the University of the Antilles in the territory “at the start of the next school year”.
Without referring to the situation of Air Antilles or its legal troublesThe elected official recalled that, faced with “turbulence (…) and the incessant whirlwind of adversity and difficulties”, the Territorial Council had been able to to maintain the “course towards a better Saint-Martin”The president reaffirmed his commitment to “unite and transform” the territory at the start of 2026.
