Firefighters responded to a traffic accident on Tuesday, January 20, shortly before 16:30 p.m. involving a light vehicle and a moped on the main road in Sandy Ground. Four people were involved in this incident which occurred near a busy intersection.
The two occupants of the moped, a 36-year-old man and an 8-year-old girl, have been seriously injuredThey were treated as an absolute emergency and transported to the Louis Constant Fleming Hospital CenterA woman of about 30 years old, pedestrianwas also injured during a secondary accident that occurred immediately afterwardShe was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the car involved in the initial collision escaped unharmed. An investigation has been opened in order to establish the exact circumstances of the accident and any potential liabilities.
Arrest for attempted murder in Galisbay
Furthermore, yesterday morning, a judicial operation conducted in the Galisbay – Sandy Ground area led to the arrest of a minor for acts classified as attempted murder, within the framework of a armed robbery with use of a weaponThe procedure is being conducted under the authority of the Basse-Terre public prosecutor’s office.
