Sint Maarten Police (KPSM) proceeded to arrest two male suspects, Wednesday January 7, following a coordinated operation carried out in an apartment located on Welfare Road, in Cole BayThis intervention follows several reports from local residents alleging a alleged sale of Narcotics from the accommodation, as well as the possible presence of firearms.
Faced with this information deemed credible, the KPSM (National Police Security Service) deployed a multi-service operation to ensure compliance with applicable drug and weapons laws. Upon arrival, officers attempted to contact the occupants, who refused to open the door et attempted to flee through the rear of the house. Law enforcement then forced the main entrance and took over the premises. The search of the apartment led to the discovery of a a large quantity of narcotics as well as a sum of cash, were immediately seized. However, no firearms were found. Two suspects have been taken into custody. and taken to the police station, where they remain in custody pending further investigation.
