Yesterday early evening, a woman was seriously injured by a firearm in the area of Millrum Street, south of Grand-Case airport. The victim was rushed to Louis Constant Fleming Hospital.

The commander of the Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy gendarmerie, Hugues Loyez, stated on the evening of the events: “In circumstances that we have yet to elucidate, a woman was the victim of a gunshot this evening (Wednesday, April 16, editor’s note), near the Millrum sector.

She is injured but conscious.” At the same time, emergency services quickly arrived on the scene.

“Around 20 p.m., we took charge of a woman in her thirties shot to the abdomen and lower limbs,” explains Anthony Arnould, fire captain and head of the Saint-Martin center.

The victim was treated on site and then rushed to hospital.

A rescue vehicle and a group leader were deployed, while security forces ensured the area was secure.
