
The Ministry of Justice has launched the campaign “Open Justice”and for recruit volunteer citizens to form the Users’ Committee of Saint-Martin and Saint-BarthélemyThis initiative aims to involve residents in in-depth discussions to concretely improve the functioning of the justice system in these areas.
Faced with local specificities (remoteness, difficulties accessing digital technology and language barriers), Adapting the justice system is a major necessityThe goal is to make it more human and more accessible.
The committee will work on five priority areas : accessibility and disability for justice without obstacles, receiving victims, digital inclusion ensuring access to justice even without internet access, the clarity of judicial decisions, and finally, managing waiting times for smoother audiences and better respect for time.
To apply, candidates must be major and not having no ongoing legal casesThe call for applications excludes legal professionals (lawyers, notaries, bailiffs), elected officials and association leaders, in order to guarantee a strictly citizen perspective.
