PINK OCTOBER: Elie Gibs students walk against cancer | FAXINFO

Within the framework of the annual campaign Pink October, the entire Grand-Case elementary school marched last Tuesday to show its support for the fight against breast cancer.

So it was a wave of pink that swept over Grand Case. Left elementary school Elijah Gibs, nearly 280 students, including those from the Ghislaine Rogers nursery school, reached the stadium on foot to form on the lawn the pink ribbon symbolic. This meeting, called “Grand-Case Schools’ Pink October Sports Walk”, was held for the second consecutive year at the initiative ofAnnick Raghouber, director of the establishment: “We made this decision last year in the school council with the teaching staff and representatives of the parents of pupils. We believe that Children must be informed and made aware of this disease and, above all, they must know that we are not alone in this stressful situation, that there are associations and people we can count on. Today's children are tomorrow's adults and it is up to us to teach them that we must support each other, because we always need others.”

The inhabitants of Grand-Case welcomed this event, and the teachers enthusiastically supported the project, evoking a unifying event that combines sport and mutual aidThis sports walk is part of a global approach implemented by the teaching team in order to create a dynamic around sport and health.
