
Un new episode of violence occurred on Wednesday, October 15 at the Daniella Jeffry Vocational High School. An altercation between several students, which occurred in a duty room, led to the intervention of a member of staff, who was injured while trying to intervene.
The students involved were immediately isolated and temporarily excludedThey will soon be summoned before a Disciplinary BoardA complaint was filed after the broadcasting of images of the scene filmed by other students, who will also be subject to sanctions.
Faced with this incident, Prefect Cyrille Le Vély brought together a working group on the same day with Vice-Rector Harry Christophe, 2nd VP of the COM Bernadette Davis, the head of the establishment, the police, the CLSPD and ARS. Goal : coordinate a rapid and sustainable response to curb violent behavior in schools, strengthen prevention, mediation and educational support. The authorities point out that any form of violence, inside and outside establishments, exposes its perpetrators to severe administrative and criminal sanctions.
Beyond disciplinary measures, state services and their partners wish to act in a global manner, by involving families, schools, associations and institutions, in order to restore a solid educational framework. The prefect calls for collective mobilization to guarantee each student a safe, respectful learning environment conducive to success.
