SOCIETY: Six volunteers recognized for their commitment at the Volunteer Gala | FAXINFO

Last Friday at Loterie Farm, six long-time volunteers involved in collective and solidarity action received an award to thank them for their investment in the life of the island.
 
The prefect’s delegate for urban policy, Corinne Juhel, launched the special evening, themed ‘tropical chic’, with an introductory speech in the idyllic setting of Loterie Farm: Insularity strengthens ties and in Saint-Martin, solidarity remains an absolute necessity; Without volunteers, many initiatives simply would not be possible. ».
 
Firstst Award-winning volunteer Yolande Lambert is particularly known for her work with Friendly Upcycling, An association that responds to numerous projects with the help of recyclable materials. It has thus produced, with eight other volunteers, unusual toys for children from organic and recyclable materials.
 
Leyla Fazer, creator of the Running Night and Running Night Kids, deeply committed to the professional integration of young people, also received an award from Dominique Démocrite Louisy, 3e Vice President of the Collectivity.
 
Firste volunteer called, Mirline Dambreville, member of the Territorial Youth Council of Saint-Martin and Soualiga Youth was praised for her total commitment.
 
Kerline Laurent, 4e The recipient received an award for his efforts in bringing people together around his association. Little Brother of the Poor which helps vulnerable and isolated people.
 
Finally, Patrick Eugène and Touzah Jah Bash were honored, the first for his investment in local cultural life, by inviting renowned Caribbean musicians and singers to the island for over 30 years, and the second for his educational and pedagogical actions around biodiversity, from his farm in Bellevue.
