Canadian national to be charged with money laundering after undeclared cash found in baby powder | SOUALIGA NEWSDAY

SINT MAARTEN (SIMPSON BAY-AIRPORT) – On Sunday the 23rd of June 2019 the Alpha Team conducted a control on the Westjet flight from Toronto, police said in a statement on Monday.

This control consisted of a search of the aircraft and interviewing several passengers by Customs officers. A Canadian national with the initials T.B. was profiled by the Alpha Team for further investigation.

After such was done a search has been carried out in his luggage when a good amount of cash, which was not declared to Customs, was found hidden in a bottle of “Baby Powder”. The man was arrested by the Alpha team and was charged with money laundering. The investigation is still ongoing. (Sint Maarten Police Force)
