SINT MAARTEN (CAY HILL) – Granted the coronavirus pandemic is having a huge impact on the daily lives of people on St. Maarten, the Community Aid Sentry Hill Foundation recently made a much needed donation to the Mental Health Foundation (MHF) Daycare in support of the foundation’s client activities, MHF said in a press statement.
Candle making is just one of the activities carried out by the daycare clients at MHF. These fragrance-based candles are sold during the entire year but are mostly displayed around Valentine’s Day, Christmas time and at special MHF informative events.
The clients who partake in the candle making activity not only produce the candles but are also part of the effort in the vending of the product and receive a portion of the proceeds made. The donation of the cooler by Community Aid Sentry Hill foundation will help speed up the candle making process by providing an ambient temperature to help minimize shrinkage.
Community Aid Sentry Hill Foundation was established on May 5, 2017, with the aim of providing financial aid to organizations, foundations and groups that contribute positively to the education, development, wellbeing and care of the youth, differently-abled and senior citizens. The foundation also aims at supporting organizations that promote the island, care for the preservation of the local nature, and promote agriculture and the culture of St. Maarten.
MHF would like to thank Community Aid Sentry Hill Foundation for its donation and for taking the time during COVID-19 to contribute to an activity that means a lot to the daycare clients at MHF.
