SINT MAARTEN (POND ISLAND) – Recently, Prime Minister Leona Romeo Marlin and Minister of Education Culture Youth & Sports Wycliff Smith accepted an award from President of the Collectivite of Saint Martin Daniel Gibbs on behalf of the Saint Martin United Football Organization.
Saint Martin United Football Organization focused the award specifically on the recognition of the French-Dutch Football Selection team that played in Guadeloupe in 1963 that consisted of Robert Weinum, Claud Gombis, Albert Arrondell, Louis Hamlet, Roger Augusty, Nobert Questel, Vital Carty, Georges Leonard, John Piper, Whitfield Vlaun, Gerard Hunt, Remy Martin, Georges DePolo, Charles Richardson, Jules Carty, Amboise Halley & Joseph Daniel.
The text on the Participation Award read as follows; “From the people of St. Martin certifies that the Government of St. Maarten has contributed supportively to Saint Martin Football Championships, an outstanding supporter and contributor, we thank you”.
