SINT MAARTEN (PHILIPSBURG) – In accordance to the year plan of the Cops & Kids program hosted by the Sint Maarten Police Force (KPSM), the activities for the sports day was held on Friday May the 18th 2019 at the John Cooper / Jose Lake sr. Ball Park at L.B Scott road, a Sunday police statement said.
The schools that participated in the sports day this year were: Genevieve De Weever Primary school, Dr. Martin Luther Primary school, Leonard Conner School, Seven-day Adventist school and Sister Regina School. The aforementioned schools participated in four different sports activities, namely Soccer, tug-of-war, relay race and fill-the-bottle.
The overall winner of the 2019 annual Cops & Kids sports day was the Leonard Conner school. Genevieve De Weever Primary school placed 2nd the Seven-day Adventist school placed 3rd, Dr. Martin Luther King placed 4th and the Sister Regina school placed 5th.
“Special thanks to the sponsors of this event, Rotary Sunrise who supplied snacks, drinks and trophies, the Management of the soccer field at Emilio Wilson’s estate, and the management team of KPSM who supplies us with water,” the Police statement said.
“The Police force of St. Maarten would like to thank all the participating schools, school managers and the Inspectorate of education for their cooperation and assistance in making this Cops & Kids sports day in a huge success. Also visiting the event were the Chief of Police Carl John and The Police Spokesman Chief Inspector Ricardo Henson,” the Police statement concluded. (Sint Maarten Police Force)
