SINT MAARTEN (SUCKER GARDEN) – The St. Maarten Lions Club has contacted all school managers and or directors as well as after school art program directors with respect to its next project, the peace poster.
The Lions Club stated that they, “…recognize the importance of promoting and instilling peace amongst our island’s youth as well as recognizing their hard work in their educational growth.
“Hence, the St. Maarten Lions Club will be hosting their annual “Lions International Peace Poster Competition. Attached are the guidelines that should be adhered to participate in the competition.
“The target group for this project is the group 7 and 8 of the primary schools and the form 1 students of the high schools. All participants must be between the ages of 11 and 13 (Birthdates must fall between November 16, 2005 – November 15, 2008). This years’ theme for the competition is “Journey of Peace”
“Our club has teamed up with Ms. Tess Verheij, director of the Waste Factory who will guide the students and prepare them for this years’ Peace Poster Competition.
“We are cordially inviting you to the launching of this year’s Peace Poster scheduled for September 10, 2019 at 3:00 pm place the Lions Civic Center next to the Yuppie Gas Station in Sucker Garden. We will provide additional information on the competition during the launch.”
