SINT MAARTEN (POND ISLAND) - Minister Lee expressed his congratulations to the members of the St. Maarten Lions Club for their resilience and dedication in hosting the annual Lion Rudy Hoeve Health and Wellness Fair. This year’s event will be held on Saturday March 30 at the Festival Village from 9am to 4pm. Minister Lee asks the community to be sure to attend the fair, urging all to make use of the great services, free health testing and screening that will be available.

“The event is open to the public with no cost of entry and so families young and old should come out to this family event. It is a great opportunity to explore the services available on the island.” – Minister Emil Lee, VSA

Parents still requiring to vaccinate their children are urged to come out with their child’s vaccination booklet and have the Baby Clinic nurses vaccinate their children at the fair. This will be possible between the hours of 9am and 3pm. You can also take this opportunity to get more information on other vaccinations that are available.

A wide range of services will be available at the fair in relation to health and wellness. Several well-known stakeholders in the field will be present such as: the diabetes foundation, the  AIDS foundation,  the Windward Islands Emergency Medical Services (WIEMS), Social & Health Insurances SZV, Collective Prevention Services and the Baby Clinic, the Alzheimer’s foundation, Vital Health Dietitian, Be Well Be Fit physical therapy, Kidney foundation, the Mental Health Foundation (MHF), the Sickle Cell foundation, the Helping Hands foundation, Home care nursing, Fitness desire, You Too Can Move Fitness, the Vegan association and the SXM Psychologist foundation.
