MPs Pay Working Visit to the new Sint Maarten General Hospital Site | Soualiganewsday

SINT MAARTEN (CAY HILL) - On Thursday, August 13, 2026, Members of Parliament of the Committee of Public Health, Social Development and Labor (CVSA) conducted a working visit to the Sint Maarten General Hospital (SMGH) construction site.

During the visit, the Committee received a presentation from St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC) Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Felix Holiday, and SMGH Project Manager, Mr. Henk de Zeeuw, who provided an overview of the hospital's layout and an update on the project's progress.

Following the presentations, Committee members were given a guided tour of the construction site, where they observed ongoing works and received explanations regarding the development and functionality of each floor of the new facility.

The purpose of the visit was to provide members of the Committee with firsthand insight into the hospital's development, current status, operational planning, and overall readiness as the project advances toward completion.
