SINT MAARTEN (PHILIPSBURG) – The National Alliance (NA) family hereby extends deepest condolences to the St. Maarten Community, especially the Dutch Quarter community, members, staff and children of the I can Foundation on the passing of Ms. Cassandra “Debbie” Richardson, founder and director of the I Can Foundation.
Leader of the NA Member of Parliament (MP) Silveria Jacobs recalls the many times she and many other stalwarts have interacted and collaborated to assist Debbie in her quest to care for the most vulnerable children in the Lower Princes Quarter area. She distinctly remembers how Debbie was always grateful for anything that would benefit the children.
Her devotion and dedication to the children over the past generations are tangible and will be felt for years to come as these children and youth rise above the circumstances not of their choosing and become productive, positive citizens of St. Maarten.
Debbie will surely be missed, and we pray that the torch she carried will continue to shine in her memory and that the care of Dutch Quarter’s children will continue as long as the need exists.
May her soul Rest in Eternal Peace knowing that she has made a big impact in the lives of these vulnerable children and youth, for which St. Maarten is immeasurably grateful.
