SINT MAARTEN (PHILIPSBURG) - Forty employees took NV GEBE up on its offer to attend a two-day First Aid training, the utility company announced on Monday.

The intense training was executed by WIEMS and the participating employees were taught to administer CPR, the use of an AED, and assist in other first aid required situations.

NV GEBE has been offering the training to its employees since the late 90s and the interest remains high, according to Chief Executive Officer Kenrick Chittick. Chittick stated that the "importance of this training is enormous as it equips persons with the skills to provide first aid assistance to colleagues that may require treatment on the job and to any other persons within the community that may find themselves in an unfortunate situation requiring first aid."

The Managing Board congratulates the new First Aid certified employees.
