SINT MAARTEN (PHILIPSBURG) – Within short, STORM, the newest spiritual child of author Loekie Morales, will be available in English. “September 6, 2017 was the day of the most destructive national disaster and the worst nightmare Sint Maarten had ever seen. On that day Hurricane Irma slammed her tail and left the island in total chaos and shambles.

“This book, STORM, is about the dramatic, but also uplifting experiences of two young boys, David and Tony, during and after the arrival of the monster called Irma.

“The author as well as proofreader Rietje Sint and translator Barbara van der Woude have finalized their work weeks ago but had to await finalization of the beautiful paintings of illustrator Penka Petkova, to complete the book.

“Last Friday, the layout work has been finalized, by the company HD Ontwerp, by combining the main story STORM, about the passing of hurricane on Sint Maarten, and the winning Hurricane poems of the Beyond Kultura Writing competition 2019. Both, Story and poems are being beautifully supported by exited illustrations of Penka Petkova to make the book.

“Damen Drukkers in The Netherlands will have the books ready printed half October, and then they will be shipped to Sint Maarten. The Launch will be announced as soon as the books arrive Sint Maarten by Beyond Kultura Events Foundation,” Children’s book author Morales said in a press statement on Saturday.
