UD calls for political maturity during parliamentary election campaign | SOUALIGA NEWSDAY

SINT MAARTEN (GREAT BAY) – Cancer is a devastating disease that continues to bring physical and physiological hardship to many of our people and their families, the United Democrats (UD) said in a press statement on Thursday evening.

“Too many of our loved ones need to spend much time abroad in seeking medical attention and cure from this dreadful disease.

“That the leader of the United People Party would use this disease to describe candidates of the UD party is both distasteful and disrespectful to every citizen of this country.  And more so those who have been touched by cancer and are bravely fighting the battle against cancer.

“That Brison in his distasteful remarks would implicate the “Doctor”, one responsible for our health is even more incomprehensible. For a leader who boasts of doing things differently, this is such old-school politics. Hurtful old-school politics.

“The NA/USP interim government should spend its time getting the new hospital back on track.  Not fight it, because they did not conceive it.  A new hospital is finally within our reach, thanks to the UD.

“The United Democrats call on Luc Mercelina to distance himself from these types of attacks, that touch every citizen to their very core. Shame! Shame! Shame!,” the UD press statement concludes.
