A Heavy Rainfall Advisory is in effect for St. Maarten From 6 pm today until 12 pm Wednesday, July 31. | SMN News

Convection associated with an approaching tropical wave is expected to begin affecting our already unstable local atmosphere by this evening. This will likely produce periods of scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms along with gusty winds. Some of these showers could be heavy at times. Due to already saturated soils from recent rainfall, flooding, rockfall and/or landslides remain a threat in vulnerable areas. Residents and motorists in these areas are advised to be exercise caution when in these areas and/or avoid them whenever possible.
