MARIGOT:— The Collectivité of Saint-Martin informs you the census of the population will be done between March 8th to April 12th, 2018.
Every year, the National Institute of Statistics and Economical Studies (INSEE) performs the census of the population living in France, in partnership with the Collectivité of St Martin.
Your home has been selected and you are invited to answer the forms that will be presented to you by a census officer during the above-mentioned period. Census officers have been recruited and trained by the Collectivité. They will present you an official Identity badge and are strictly bound by professional secrecy. The census officer will notify you of the necessary information and provide you with help to fill out the surveys.
This census operation is important for our territory because it will determine the number of people living in Saint-Martin. This population figures are also used to define public policies adapted to the territory like collective facilities, programs for the renovation of neighborhoods, means of transport. In addition, the census also provides statistical information on the age and family composition.
Whereas our island has been strongly impacted by hurricane Irma, on September 6th, 2017, we definitely need to get these statistical figures for the reconstruction of St Martin. For all these reasons, your participation is essential. It is made mandatory by law, and it is above all a civic duty that I ask you to fulfill.
For more information, please visit the website www.le-recensement-et-moi.fr or contact the census office of the Collectivité (Madam Rosette PAROTTE) at 0590 52 27 30 – Sustainable Development Department located at number 6 Fort Louis road – Marigot.
The Collectivité thanks you in advance for participating in the census of Saint-Martin.
