PHILIPSBURG:---Teachers and students of the Milton Peters College (MPC) will be traveling to the Netherlands in June to take part in the Olympic Moves Competition, one of the largest sports competitions held there.
The school’s participation was made possible due to a number of donations such as the one received recently by Teachers Laticia Brown and Aukje van Kuiken from CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank.
Bas de haan, former teacher at MPC, who passed away last year introduced the competition in St. Eustatius and was eager to do the same in St. Maarten, it is in his honor that Brown and van Kuiken are enthusiastic about traveling with eight of their students to take part in Olympic Moves.
It will be the first time the island will be represented in the high school sports competition which is the largest in the Netherlands.
The bank also made a donation to the Sundial School recently in support of their graduation ceremony to be held in July.
