GREAT BAY (DCOMM):--- Prime Minister Leona Romeo Marlin is currently chairing an emergency meeting of the Council of Ministers this evening (Tuesday) at the Government Administration Building regarding a second major fire on Pond Island.
Late Tuesday afternoon early evening, a second major fire erupted at the sanitary landfill where household trash is dumped on a daily basis by waste disposal contractors.
At the moment, the Fire Department, personnel from the Ministry of Public Housing, Spatial Planning, Environment and Infrastructure (Ministry VROMI), and the Landfill Management Contractor, are currently busy extinguishing the fire.
