PHILIPSBURG (DCOMM):— The Fire Department/Office of Disaster Management (ODM) Fire Chief Clive Richardson is calling on the community to closely monitor the progress of a developing weather system that is located approximately 1000 miles east-southeast of Sint Maarten.

According to the Meteorological Department of Sint Maarten (MDS), the low-pressure system could form into a tropical depression or tropical storm within the next couple of days.

The system is forecast to begin affecting portions of the Lesser Antilles on Wednesday or Wednesday night.
