WILLEMSTAD:— On August 17, 2017, the Inspectorate of health care has given an indication to the management of the Advent hospital that the Advent hospital prohibits to open a kidney dialysis centre at the location Damacor as long as not fulfilled a number of conditions that are essential for the quality of care and patient safety.
By Ministerial Decree dated 9 November 2016 the Advent hospital has been given permission by the Minister of GMN to a dialysis Center to open, under a number of conditions set out in this decision are explicitly included. In addition, on an earlier time also to the Ministerial Decision (December 2015) for commissioning of the location Damacor some conditions that are essential for the quality of care and patient safety. The Inspectorate of Healthcare notes that the conditions that have been made by the Minister and that also the framework conditions for responsible and safe quality care till this very moment do not met or are insufficiently implemented. Given the particular expertise and the security measures that are necessary to run kidney dialysis, it is also not to be expected that this will be the case in the foreseeable future. It is the responsibility of the Inspectorate of health care to patients not to run any risk that they get care is of insufficient quality and safety and for that reason it has given this indication.
