Bienvenido Richardson appointed new chairman.
PHILIPSBURG:— Former Member of Parliament and member of the Democratic Party Roy Marlin has tendered his resignation as the chairman of the Supervisory Board. Marlin submitted his letter to the office of the Prime Minister on Tuesday morning.
SMN News learned that other members of the Supervisory Board of GEBE were having problems with Marlin since they believe Marlin was micromanaging. Information reaching SMN News states that Marlin and his colleagues on the board had several heated meetings where the other members of the board informed Marlin that as chairman he has been micromanaging the company and as such they will vote him on Tuesday. The agenda point was placed on the Supervisory Board meeting that was scheduled for Tuesday morning, however, Marlin did not wait for his colleagues to embarrass him by voting him out.
At the meeting on Tuesday morning Marlin did not attend the meeting, however, the board continued with the scheduled meeting and they voted in favor of appointing Bienvenido Richardson as the new chairman of the Supervisory Board.
SMN News further learned that the Supervisory Board called a meeting with the management board on Tuesday morning.
SMN News contacted Roy Marlin for a comment on his resignation. Marlin said he will not make any comments at this moment.
SMN News further learned that the Supervisory Board and the managing board are having some serious issues with their planned trip to Bangkok. The members of the Supervisory Board and management are planning to travel to Bangkok to further research renewable energy during the Asia week.
According to information reaching SMN News, the management board is against the trip since it will cost GEBE almost $77,000.00 for airline tickets and another $11,000.00 on hotel accommodation. The source said that the CEO of GEBE Kennrick Chittick is the last member of the management team who indicated that he will not be traveling to Bangkok.
