Maritsa James Christina main suspect in Trigger Fish Investigation.
PHILIPSBURG:— Former Manager of the Court of First Instance Maritsa James Christina was arrested on Friday morning by the Landsrecherche in the Triggerfish investigation. James was suspended earlier this year as she was suspected of dipping her hands in the cookie jar. Recently, she was fired and now arrested as the investigation continues.
A press release from the Prosecutors Office states the following:-
Suspect M.J-C. was arrested today by the National Detectives Sint Maarten (Landsrecherche) in the ongoing TRIGGERFISH investigation. M.J-C. is suspected of having embezzled sums of money from the bank accounts of the Sint Maarten branch of the Joint Court of Justice of Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten and of Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba over an extended period of time. The suspect had access to these accounts by means of her position. After the arrest of the accused, the National Detectives Sint Maarten subsequently searched a house at an address in Cay Bay and at an address in Cole Bay. This involved the seizure of documents and data carriers. The TRIGGGERFISH investigation is in full swing.
