St. Eustatius:— The island government of St. Eustatius dispatched a letter to the Minister of Interior and Kingdom Affairs Ronald Plasterk informing him that the Kingdom violated the United Nations Charter and its resolutions. The letter dated April 25th, 2017 states that the island government of St. Eustatius have taken note “Plasterk’s” undated letter he sent to the Chairman of the Executive Council. The letter from Plasterk is a response of the letter sent by Clyde Van Putten to Prime Minister Mark Rutte on April 17th, 2017 informing him of the stance the government of Statia took with regards to their status of self-government within the Kingdom.
The letter states that recently the Charter of the Kingdom was tested against the charter of the United Nations (UN Charter) based on a ruling of the Supreme Court o April 13th, 2012.
