House to house campaign and UV traps will be used to contain mosquitoes.

PHILIPSBURG:--- Minister of VSA Emil Lee said in response to question posed by SMN News on how his ministry intends to combat mosquitos that are now plaguing residents after a few days of rainfall and if fogging will take place anytime soon. SMN News proceeded to ask the Minister of he will continue the use of the UV traps. Minister Lee said that while the residents would like to see trucks spraying chemicals throughout the island he along with CPS has taken another route. Minister Lee said that they will continue the use of UV traps however, he does believe that the best way to deal with the breeding of mosquitos is the house to house campaign that was done in 2016. He said already he started a program in collaboration with the Minister of Education with students. The aim he said that the students that are participating in the program will take the information home and share it with their parents.
