Lions District Governor pays official visit to Sint Maarten Lions and Leo Clubs.

PHILIPSBURG:— Lion Ephraim Leslie, PMJF District Governor for Lions Sub-District 60B for the Lions year 2018-2019 rounded off his official visits to Lions Zone 2-B (Saba, Sint Eustatius and Sint Maarten) when he paid his official visit to the St. Maarten Alpha Leo Club, the St. Maarten South Omega Leo Club and the St Maarten Lions Club.
The district governor congratulated the excellent work that the St. Maarten Lions Club has been doing in the community despite the challenges of the club membership experienced with the passing of Hurricane Irma in September 2017. After having been updated on the various community projects executed by all three clubs the District Governor brought those in attendance up to date on Lions International’s Core Areas of Service for the coming three years.
LCI’s Global project is geared towards raising US$ 300 million in the coming three years of which funds will be spread throughout the world to assist wherever necessary to combat poverty and hunger. Every individual Lion member worldwide can personally contribute to this goal on a monthly basis to in this way personally giving those in need a better quality of life.
District Governor Ephraim also stressed on the launching of “District 60B Forward” which is the district’s five year strategic plan with goals and core areas: “Diabetes Awareness and Education” with prevention through education, “Leos and Youth Affairs” with training to take on more significant roles and making the transition to becoming a Lion easier, “Developing the Lion as Individuals to take on Leadership Roles inside the clubs and District and identifying at least one Lion in each club and provide training for leadership roles at higher levels (District & Beyond).
