PHILIPSBURG - As a parent, there are various ways in offering support to your child’s future career success. Understanding the importance of your influence is the key to his/her success. The Student Support Services Division (SSSD) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth, and Sports will be hosting an interactive workshop entitled “Looking Beyond: Helping Your Child With Career Choices”.
This free workshop aspires to provide parents of secondary school students with tips, strategies, and resources to aid their children in researching careers, exploring career options, and helping them decide on a career choice.
This workshop will be held on Thursday, March 30th, 2017 at the SSSD’s office from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Persons interested in attending are urged to contact the SSSD’s office at 54-31235 and reserve their spot as space is limited.
The Student Support Services Division(SSSD) provides support services to students referred by the care team of their schools. These services consist of psychological services, counseling services, social work services, educational diagnostic services, career services, speech-language pathology services and parent education sessions. SSSD also provides workshops for parents, teachers and school personnel.
