PHILIPSBURG:--- NAGICO has announced that October is Customer and Community Appreciation Month in St. Maarten.

They have a line-up of meaningful activities focused on their customers and the community at large and they are excited to share the news. The company had planned an extravagant Customer Appreciation day last year, but unfortunately, this had to be canceled due to the passage of the hurricanes.

“Our plans last year were blown apart by Irma and Maria, so we were not able to make that special day happen for our customers,” Lisa Brown; Marketing Manager said. “
After the hurricanes, we had to shift our attention and focus to claim settlement. Now that we have settled the majority of claims and the island is well on its way to recovery, we believe that it is time to start back working on our annual 1000 smiles project.”

This month of appreciation forms part of a bigger project; the NAGICO 1000 Smiles Project, which is an annual mission that the company undertakes to, as the name of the project implies, bring a smile on the face of 1000 persons through the doing of good deeds that have a direct positive impact on the community.

Some of the activities that NAGICO has scheduled for this month are A Home Repair Voucher Program, Back to School Welcoming, Teachers Appreciation, Donation to Positive Foundation for Mammogram Machine and Donation to the ACE Foundation to allow them to house their school for undocumented children for another year rent free. The month-long community appreciation will culminate with a massive NAGICO Health & Fitness Fair which will take place at the Raoul Illidge Sports Complex on Saturday, October 27th, so save the date today.

“We are really excited about October. We want to make this the new month to remember; a month of hope, rebirth, and renewal.” Brown said, “We have focused on initiatives and events that we believe will positively impact and improve lives.”

The NAGICO Health & Fitness Fair is a free event with lots of exciting fitness activities scheduled. Several Medical Practitioners in the various fields of medicine, along with popular organizations will be in attendance offering free testing and basic consulting services. These include Dentist Dowling, Physio Therapy, Optician, Dr. Tasika Bell a General Practitioner, Red Cross, HIV/Aids Foundation, Diabetes Foundation, AUC Medical students, Mental Health Foundation and the White & Yellow Cross.

We also have some of the island’s top Fitness Trainers who will be conducting free fitness classes throughout the course of the day. They include Zumba lessons with Learie Hall, Yoga & Meditation classes provided by Joga, Circuit Training with Desmond Hughes, Body Sculpting and Aerobics with Chawlyn Mezas, 3-time winner of the Fittest on the Rock competition. Diet is also very important for a healthy lifestyle so Healthy Food Restaurant, Arena Base, will also be in attendance to provide information about their plans and you’ll even get an opportunity to sample some healthy bites.

Take your health into your hands. We are extending an open invitation to everyone. Come out to our free Health & Fitness Fair on October 27th and bring a friend.
