National School Counselor’s Week at the St. Maarten Vocational Training School (SMVTS).

PHILIPSBURG:—National School Counselor’s week highlights the tremendous impact school counselors can have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career. The St. Maarten Vocational Training School (SMVTS), will celebrate National School Counselor’s Week, from February 4th to 8th, 2019. The passing of and the destruction by Hurricane Irma in September 2017 led to the cancellation of ‘SMVTS Career Fair 2018’. Therefore, to start the National School Counselor’s Week on a high note, ‘SMVTS Career Fair 2019’ will be the kickoff event on Monday 4th February. The theme is TEAMWORK: Together Everyone Achieves More.
The management, counselors, teachers, and staff are actively engaged in finding positive ways to enhance student’s social/personal, educational and career development in order for our students to recognize their potential and set healthy and realistic aspirations for themselves. During the remainder of the week, special career, as well as social emotional centered workshops and presentations, will be offered to our students by SMVTS Counselors.
