PHILIPSBURG:—The Fire Department has another accomplishment; ten Fire Fighters attended and completed a five-day training course, from July 1-5, on the maintenance of the Air Breathing Mask, which is linked to the Breathing Apparatus System (BAS). The course was paid for by the National Recovery and Program Bureau (NRPB).
These BASs are the two-part devices that protect the firefighters from inhaling smoke or any other hazardous substances when fighting a fire or engaging in any type of activity that exposes the men in uniform.
