PHILIPSBURG:— In relation to the investigation DOP, the Asset Recovery Team seized a Porsche Boxster on A.Th. Illidge Road on Friday, November 30th, 2018.
Suspect H.B.G.R. (34) is the owner of the vehicle. The suspect is accused of a number of criminal offenses, including money laundering. The investigation revealed that the suspect had no legal income that could justify ownership of a Porsche Boxster.
The vehicle was confiscated because crime should not pay. The DOP investigation is still being pursued. Proceeds of the Asset Recovery Team will benefit country Sint Maarten. Op vrijdagavond 30 november 2018 heeft het Afpakteam op de A.Th.Illidge Road in het onderzoek DOP een Porsche Boxster in beslag genomen.
Het voertuig behoort toe aan verdachte H.B.G.R. die van meerdere strafbare feiten wordt verdacht, waaronder witwassen. Het onderzoek DOP van het Afpakteam heeft inmiddels uitgewezen dat verdachte H.B.G.R. geen legaal inkomen heeft dat de aanschaf en het bezit van de Porsche Boxster kan verklaren.
Misdaad mag niet lonen en daarom is het voertuig in beslag genomen. Het onderzoek DOP gaat de komende tijd verder. De opbrengsten van het Afpakteam komen ten goede van het land Sint Maarten.
