PHILIPSBURG:— On behalf of Port St. Maarten Group of Companies (the “Port”), we hereby give you a brief update on the recent developments that have transpired over the past few days.
On Wednes, ay June 6, 2017, the Chief Executive Officer of the Port, Mr. Mark T. Mingo, was detained by the local authorities in connection with the ongoing “Emerald” investigations.
The investigation team has placed Mr. Mingo under restrictive custody due to which no further details can be shared at this stage.
Mr. Mingo’s attorney has issued a press release that Mr. Mingo denies any wrongdoing and faces the future with complete confidence.
In connection with the investigations new searches were conducted into the Port’s administration on Thursday June 7, 2017.
The justice authorities explicitly stated that the Port is not a suspect in any ongoing investigation.
The Port has taken the necessary measures to ensure its continued operations and will keep you updated of any further relevant developments.
