Prime Minister Marlin calls on French Authorities to respect agreement on status quo.

williammarlin16082017PHILIPSBURG:— Prime Minister William Marlin has once again called on the French authorities, especially those in France to respect the ‘status quo’ agreement until the Oyster Pond border issue is regulated. Marlin at the weekly press briefings made the plea after he was informed by Captain Oliver’s business operators that they are being harassed by the French authorities that have led to court cases.
Marlin said the business operators that are operating at Oyster Pond Marina are legitimate business people and as such the French should not be harassing those people. The Prime Minister said he even discussed this matter with the outgoing Minister of Interior Affairs Ronald Plasterk who paid a farewell visit to the Council of Ministers on Tuesday. Marlin said that while there is no problem with the local French residents he made clear that when the “elephant” fights the grass is trampled upon. Therefore he is calling on the French authorities to respect the signed agreements until the Oyster Pond border issues are regulated.
