Prime Minister of Dominica visits Collectivity of St. Martin.

rskerritvisitscom17092017MARIGOT:— The first Vice-president Ms. Valerie Damaseau received today, Sunday, September 17th, 2017 at the Collectivité administrative building the Prime Minister of Dominica, the Honorable Roosevelt Skerrit and his delegation. The Vice-president Stephen Patrick as well as the Territorial Councilors, Mr. Jean-Raymond Benjamin, Mr. Ambroise Lake and Mr. Louis Mussington attended the meeting. The Prime Minister was accompanied by his Minister of Planning, Economic Development and Investment, Dr. Collin John McIntyre and his director of Disaster Management, Mr. Cecil Shillingford. The purpose of his visit was to express in person his heartfelt solidarity to the Governments and people of Saint-Martin and Sint Maarten on behalf of his Government after the passage of Hurricane Irma. The Prime Minister and his delegation began their visit in the morning on the Dutch side and pursued their visit on the French side in the afternoon. During his meeting with the Collectivité officials, the Prime Minister Skerrit informed the Vice-president that his Government is committed to sending Sint Maarten and Saint-Martin potable water and agriculture products. Several barges have been chartered for that purpose and will be leaving Dominica once the weather permits it. The elected members of the Collectivité accompanied the Prime Minister and his delegation on a site visit of the French side.
