Road closures and traffic diversions.

PHILIPSBURG:— In connection with the up NAGICO to NAGICO cycling race which is scheduled to start on Friday, May 19th and end on Sunday, May 21st, 2017 the police department is announcing the following road closures and traffic diversions.
Friday, May 19th the”Cause Way Bridge Time Trial”.
At 05.00 p.m. No traffic will be allowed from the East Side roundabout (Union road) to the West Side roundabout (Airport Boulevard).
At 05.45 p.m. No traffic will be allowed from the West Side roundabout (Airport Boulevard) to the East Side roundabout (Union road).
At the end of the race, both lanes will be reopened to all traffic at approximately 09.00 p.m.
Saturday, May 20th the “French Quarter to Dutch Quarter circuit race”
At 08.30 a.m. The race will start in French Quarter and enter Dutch Side via Coralita and Oyster Pond, Oyster pond road, Bishop Hill road, Hulda B. Richardson road, Tata’s round about, A. Th. Illidge road towards French Quarter. This route will be ridden seven times. Each time the riders enter the Dutch Side traffic will be closed or diverted for the safety of the riders.
When the race ends at approximately 11.00 a.m. all streets and road will be reopened for the normal flow of traffic.

Sunday May 21st Nagico Grand Tour
At 08.30 a.m. The race starts at Nagico Main Office on the Cannegieter Street- D.A. Peterson Street- Salt Picker round about – Freedom Fighter round about- Walter Nisbet road – Prins Bernard Bridge – Bush road – Church Hill roundabout – A.J.C. Brouwers road – Kruythof round about – Union road – East Side roundabout crossing the border at Bellevue – riders will return to the Dutch Side via Cupe Coy – Rhine road- Maho round about – Pelican round about – Airport Boulevard – Lejuez Bridge (Simpson Bay) – Welfare road – Kruythoff round about – A.J.C. Brouwers road – Church Hill roundabout – Bush road – Prins Bernard Bridge – W.J.A. Nisbet road – Salt Picker round about – Freedom Fighter round about – Sucker garden road – Hulda B. Richardson road – Bishop Hill road – Tata’s roundabout turning right crossing the border into French Quarter – riders will again return to the Dutch Side in Cupe Coy – Cupe Co round about – Rhine road – Maho round about – Pelican Roundabout – Airport Boulevard – West Side Roundabout – Cause Way Bridge – East Side roundabout turning left towards Bellevue into Marigot – ( second lap ) riders will again return to the Dutch Side in Cupe Coy – Cupe Co round about – Rhine road – Maho round about – Pelican Roundabout – Airport Boulevard – West Side Roundabout – Cause Way Bridge – East Side roundabout turning left towards Bellevue into Marigot where the race will eventually end.
During the each passing race streets and alleys connected to this route will be closed for the safety of the riders. After the riders have passed and the route is clear all street and alleys will again be open to all traffic.
The police department is asking all drivers to take good note of these road closures during this major event and use alternative routes to get to and from their destination. They should also exercise caution and give the police and traffic directors all cooperation necessary to make this event a successful one.
