Rotary Club of St. Martin Sunset Donates Recycled Materials.

PHILIPSBURG:— In an effort to promote Economic and Community Development during the month of October, the members of the Rotary Club of St. Martin Sunset lived up to their pledge with GreenBox by donating collected recycled materials on Saturday, October 27, 2018. The recycled materials were presented to Lela Simmonds, a representative of GreenBox. All recycled material will be shipped and disposed of off-island and by a company, specializing in recycled materials.

GreenBox is geared towards creating awareness on the importance of recycling in our community, especially given the current situation of our landfill. Currently, students and faculty at the various Catholic schools are encouraged to practice good recycling habits, by sorting their recyclables in the classroom which are later transferred into miniature recycle parks on the school grounds. GreenBox is on the verge of introducing the next step; recycling in the community. The Rotary Club of St. Martin Sunset, excited and in full support for the next step of this initiative, donated 11 bags of recycled materials to GreenBox in hopes of being an inspiration to the citizens of St. Martin and being advocates on the advantages of recycling.

The Rotary Club of St. Martin Sunset would like to extend a warm heartfelt thank you to the membership and community at a large for their donation towards the project and taking part in the efforts to becoming a more eco-friendly and sustainable nation.
