In so doing, on this anniversary of the signing of the Declaration and Convention of International Children’s Rights celebrated annually on November 20, every child on Sint Maarten has been assured that the Government of Sint Maarten will promote and protect these fundamental moralities.

According to Minister Smith, “Every person in the community has the duty to protect the rights of our children. Let us ensure that every child is loved, fed, kept safe, cared for, educated and allowed to speak and play as children should. Some may be too young to advocate for themselves, and this is why, as a village, we will look out for each child as if he or she was our own.”
