PHILIPSBURG – The Student Support Services Division (SSSD) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth, and Sport is organizing an interactive and informative workshop entitled, “Supporting Children with Special Needs: Café Styled Conversation.” The general public, especially parents of primary and secondary school going children, are invited to attend.
Parents and other interested persons are encouraged to come out to this workshop which will be held on Wednesday, September 6th, 2017 at the University of St. Martin from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.
The objective of the workshop is to empower parents, teachers, and the general public via an open relaxed café styled discussion by sharing personal experiences and practices in living, parenting, teaching and working with this population. In addition to the anticipated fruitful discussions, this workshop will provide tips and strategies that attendees can utilize in moving forward.

The Student Support Services Division (SSSD) provides services to students referred by the schools such as psychological services, counseling services, social work services, speech language pathology services, educational diagnostic services, and crisis response services. SSSD also provides career services and parent education sessions.
